Cyberjaya, 13 November 2025 – Total SE Solutions Sdn Bhd (TSE) is proud to announce its central role in the newly launched Mobile Application Certification (MAC) scheme, an initiative spearheaded by CyberSecurity Malaysia (CSM) to validate and enhance the security posture of mobile applications across the nation.

As detailed in a recent announcement by CSM, the MAC scheme is a direct result of a strategic partnership with TSE, a subsidiary of Zchwantech Cybersecurity Sdn Bhd and a licensed cybersecurity service provider under CSM.

Elevating National App Security Standards

The MAC scheme aims to provide formal assurance that mobile applications, serving both the government and private sectors, including critical infrastructure, meet rigorous security standards. This process significantly helps reduce the risks associated with data breaches, unauthorized access, and exploitation of vulnerabilities.

TSE, in collaboration with CSM, is committed to supporting this crucial national agenda. Our involvement ensures that app developers are guided to address potential security oversights and vulnerabilities early in the development lifecycle, moving security from an afterthought to a core design principle.

The evaluation criteria for the certification are aligned with globally recognized frameworks, including standards set by the Open Worldwide Application Security Project (OWASP) and the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The scheme is structured into three levels of certification, based on the application's intended use and required security depth:

• Level 1: Focuses on basic security features and general data handling.
• Level 2: Incorporates all Level 1 requirements with stronger checks on authentication and authorization.
• Level 3: Covers advanced security for high-risk operations, such as secure financial transaction handling.
